Site Inspections?

A health & safety inspection involves a trained health and safety consultant to carry out an inspection of the premises/site to identify any potential health & safety hazards, how well your organisation adhere’s to safe working practices, compliance with health & safety legislation, staff welfare issues and address any safety complaints.

By not carrying out regular and health and safety site inspections could lead to potential issues going unnoticed or unaddressed which could in turn result in accidents, serious injuries and possibly financial and legal consequences.

Conducting regular Health & Safety inspections creates a safer environment for your employees or people in your care. It is vitally important to maintain the safety of your premises all year round. You may be required by clients to provide regular reviews for tendered/contracted work as part of their ISO requirements, require additional inspections following post incident or accidents or if things have changed since your previous inspection.

For the construction industry, under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM) it is a requirement to inspect and monitor compliance with health and safety legislation on all projects. It is also a requirement to ensure work is carried out in a safe and healthy manner throughout the project duration.

It is important that a competent person inspects a site daily prior to, during and after work shifts. It is then advisable to engage with an external independent health and safety advisor like Midlands Health and Safety Consultancy to attend site/s and carry out site inspections at pre-planned frequencies.
